About SpaceAndSky
SpaceAndSky covers space news from around the world: rocket launches, crewed and robotic missions, discoveries from telescopes and observatories, space weather and the northern lights, what to see in the night sky, and the business of space.
Reported from primary sources
Our stories start from the organizations closest to the news: space agencies such as NASA, ESA, JAXA, ISRO and CNSA; launch companies and satellite operators; observatories including ESO, ALMA and the teams behind the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes; and official data such as the alerts of NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center and NASA/JPL’s asteroid tracking. Every article lists the sources it is based on, and its photographs come from the agencies, observatories and companies that published them, with their credit.
Times, figures and corrections
Launch times and other events are given in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), with local times where they help. A launch that has not happened yet is reported as scheduled, and results are reported once an official source confirms them. Distances, sizes and risk figures for asteroids are given as NASA and ESA publish them.
If you spot an error, write to [email protected]. We check every correction request against the official sources and update the article when the facts support it.
Live data and guides
Alongside the news, SpaceAndSky keeps a live rocket launch schedule with every orbital launch worldwide, and guides to the night sky, from meteor showers to the northern lights, checked against official sources and updated over time.
